SELLING AT OUR AUCTION

Hampson Auction Limited aim to make the process of selling your vehicle, automobilia and fine watches as easy and hassle free as possible.

Hampson Auction Limited offer a range of physical and online only auctions.

Motorcars are sold at the some of UK’s most picturesque venues, see individual auction pages for details or via our Live Auction Online platform (whereby they typically remain with their owners thus saving on transport).

Entry Fees and charges

Hampson Auctions are the most cost-effective way of selling your vehicle in a physical auction. Our seller’s commission is only 2.5% for cars and 5% for motorcycles, and there are no sneaky hidden costs such as unsold fees or storage charges.

Our Cataloguing Fees are as follows:

Cars:  £100 + VAT for the first car, and £75 + VAT for any further cars thereafter (entered into the same auction)

Motorcycles:  £50 + VAT for the first bike, and £35 + VAT for any further cars thereafter (entered into the same auction)

This covers professional photography of your vehicle, a full description of the machine in the relevant auction catalogue and worldwide marketing of your vehicle.

The earlier you consign your vehicle into the sale, the more marketing we will be able to carry out on your behalf, increasing the interest in your vehicle.

Valuation

Discuss your vehicle(s) with one of our specialists and agree a reserve price, where applicable.

Our specialists will always give you their honest opinion as to what they believe a Lot will fetch under the hammer.

And don’t forget, just because your agreed reserve price has been met, it doesn’t mean the bidding will stop! We will do everything within our power to achieve the highest possible price for your vehicle, because if you win, so do we!

Delivery for Physical Sales

You will need to arrange for your vehicle to be delivered to the auction venue on the allocated set-up day. This is typically three days in advance of the sale day. Alternatively, you would be very welcome to deliver the vehicle to our own secure premises in Cheshire, where we will professionally photograph it and store it free of charge. We would then arrange for one of our trusted transport partners to uplift the vehicle to the auction venue for a small fee.

We would be very happy to obtain a delivery quote from one of our recommended transport partners if required.

We will email instructions two weeks prior to the auction confirming the date, timings and directions, together with any access passes you may require (where possible).

The vehicle should arrive in a presentable and saleable condition. Once in our possession, we will take care of positioning and if your item is deemed to require further cleaning/presentation, our team of Car detailers will give your Lot(s) an exterior clean ready for public viewing. You will be notified prior to any work being carried out. There will be charge deduction from the net sale proceeds.

Please ensure all history files, documentation and V5C’s are delivered with the vehicle. Any private plates not included in the sale must be put on retention.

Day of the Auction

You are very welcome to join us in person on auction day. If you are unable to attend, you will be able to watch the auction online. We always recommend you remain contactable by telephone on both the viewing and auction day should we need to speak to you about your vehicle(s).

Payment

Following the successful sale of your Lot(s), we pay the proceeds into your nominated bank account via transfer withing 10 working days of us receiving cleared funds from the buyer. This is provided that we have your correct bank details, and that everything included in the sale of your vehicle(s) such as documents, spares, etc, has been made available.

For payment by Cheque, sale proceeds are paid out within 21 working days of receipt of cleared funds from the buyer.
